Date Night in Grey Highlands

Colleen and Ryan celebrated their engagement with a romantic date night in Grey Highlands this past fall. These two first met in high school where there was a definite spark, but it wasn’t their time yet. They kept in touch over the years and eventually went on their first date in 2013. Fast forward almost a decade and they are now engaged!

They are huge foodies, so naturally, we planned their engagement photo session around a date night they were having at a local restaurant in Grey Highlands. It’s a cozy, intimate place called Sumac and Salt. They offer a tasting menu in a quaint century farmhouse. Their food is locally sourced, foraged or grown on the property which is amazing.

Before dinner, their date night began at a local trailhead in Grey Highlands. They ran through the fields, wandered around the forest and enjoyed a stunning view of the Beaver Valley. Colleen and Ryan are incredibly sweet and sensitive souls. They make each other laugh, but they are also quite tender and have such reverence for each other and their relationship. It was an honour to witness their love and I’m so excited to photograph their wedding in July!

Below is a collection of sweet moments from their engagement session and date night in Grey Highlands.
