Soulful Wedding in Orangeville
I have been so privileged to have photographed Claire & Brendan four times now; once in the studio, once for their engagement session, once when Claire proposed to Brendan, and once for their soulful wedding in Orangeville, Ontario. Each time has been incredibly special and dear to my heart, but their wedding topped them all.
They created a very small and intimate wedding in the backyard of Claire’s parents in Orangeville, Ontario. Each element was intentional, thoughtful and heartfelt. They each had their parents and a witness, that was it. They both got ready in the same house, one on each floor. Every element of their wedding had meaning infused, from the bespoke perfume to the shoes to the handmade invitation suite. As they’re both in the film industry and total cinephiles, the songs they chose came from movies that meant something to them. In fact they sent me their letterbox before their wedding to give me a sense of what was inspiring them at the time.
As small and simple as it was, Claire & Brendan still found ways to make it even more intimate and to connect with each other. We snuck away for their first look in the middle of the forest where they shared private vows with each other. Before dinner we chased the sun in a local garden. After dinner they shared a very special first dance to a song called Dance With Me written especially for them by Torquil Campbell of Stars. Below is a glimpse of their wedding story.
