Love amongst the trees in Georgian Bay

I first met Lauren at The Camp Collective; she’s a fellow photographer and we also happened to be living in the very small town in Georgian Bay. How our paths hadn’t crossed before is entirely beyond me. We became fast friends and I fell in love with her down to earth energy, her connection to nature, her empathy and her brilliant hugs. The first time we hung out in our small town she showed me to a very special section of forest, which ended up becoming even more special a little while later when Josh proposed to Lauren amongst those very same trees.

Lauren and Josh met in Teacher’s College in 2014. Here’s their story in their own words:

“Connection was instant, although it took a few weeks for us to make magic happen outside of class.

Our first non-school hang involved late night drinks and conversation, which turned into an official date the following night at Nuit Blanche. We sealed the deal with our first kiss the following week after a match of tennis and impromptu dinner date. We fell into a meaningful rhythm in Toronto, building a solid foundation for our relationship during the year.

The rest, as they say, is history! Our relationship has taken us through one year of long distance, two years of living and exploring in Vancouver, and months apart on our own respective journeys, only to reconnect back in Toronto where it all began.”

Below is a collection of my favourite photos from their Georgian Bay Engagement Session in the forest where we first hung out together and where Josh later asked Lauren to marry him.

If you are newly engaged and would like some photos together to commemorate this special moment in your life, I’d love to hear your story and be your engagement photographer! Please reach out to me here and tell me a little about yourselves.
