Laid-back Wedding at Serenity Cottage | Jennifer & Lucas

Jennifer & Lucas had a very small, intimate wedding with their closest friends and family at Serenity Cottage on Georgian Bay. After getting ready inside the cottage, they had their wedding ceremony outside at the water’s edge. It was a sunny late-summer day with a warm, gentle breeze. After they said their I dos, I photographed family and couple portraits just down the road, surrounded by wildflowers and sumac. They then went back to the cottage to celebrate with their wedding guests. There was lots of laughter as they reminisced together and played games. Eventually, everyone came together around the beautiful handmade wooden dining table where they all shared stories, a toast and a delicious meal.

As the sun was setting, Jennifer decided to have a quick costume-change and slipped into a different white dress (if you can’t decide which wedding dress you love more, why not just wear them both!?) We snuck away to the waterfront to take some photographs of just the two of them. When we came back to the cottage, everyone gathered around, hot toddies in-hand to watch the couple share their first dance. One of my favourite parts of this wedding was that Jennifer and Lucas learned to dance especially for the occasion. They danced beautifully together and it was apparent that they were having so much fun. Below are a few of my favourite photos from this laid-back wedding by the lake.
