Walters Falls Wedding | Cass & Jeff

Cass & Jeff opted for a small outdoor wedding ceremony at the Walters Falls Inn, near Georgian Bay. Travelling halfway across the country to celebrate their wedding meant they wanted to take full advantage of the time with their friends and family. Rather than just having everyone join them on the day of, they booked the Walters Falls Inn for two nights and hosted many of their family and friends for a rehearsal dinner the night before. They set out lawn games and gave everyone a chance to get to know one another better. It made for quite an intimate wedding with everyone already comfortable with each other.

The Walters Falls Inn is situated along the Niagara escarpment with the Bruce Trail running through its property and is home to one of the many waterfalls in the Grey Bruce area. It's the perfect wedding venue for an adventurous couple who love being outside. The hike down to the falls isn't particularly easy, especially in a wedding dress, but Cass was excited about it so she came up with a way of protecting her dress on the mucky hike down using a garbage bag. Not gonna lie, I was psyched she was so brave! Also, it turns out orange garbage bags are quite stylish.

DIY backyard wedding near Georgian Bay | Stacie & Justin

This was the wedding that Kimberley built.
Stacie & Justin are two of the most generous and loving souls you'll ever meet. They make my heart swell. They are both staples in our fabulous little community, so it was no surprise that everyone wanted to pitch in to make this memorable for the pair of them.

They set the stage at a friends place down the street. On a hill overlooking the valley, with Old Baldy in the background. An aisle through meadows of wild flowers and surrounded by evergreens. Jonathan spent weeks grooming the land to make it perfect, he helped build tents and tables and benches. We gathered early to set up tables and chairs and decorations. Each one of us had a small task to make sure it all came together. David painted a mural for the backdrop, Stacie's best friend, Cristin, grew the flowers for our bouquets, and picked the rest from the valley, Justin made most of the food himself, Joel made punch, Meredith (of Meredith's Ginger Syrup fame) made delicious beverages, a friend's band played, our neighbour David Marshak played the processional and recessional, Ingrid did the beautiful ceremony and I had the pleasure and honour of standing next to Stacie as she said her vows, as well as capture the day for her. Double duty! I couldn't have done it without Sarah Tacoma as my right hand woman.
It was truly special to be able to show how much you love someone by helping them build the wedding of their dreams.

Fun fact: I totally crashed their first date by accident. oops! I promise I gave them space once I realized what was up.
