Sunrise Scarborough Bluffs Engagement | Steve & Peter

Steve & Peter's sunrise Scarborough Bluffs Engagement Session

When your couple wants to meet for a sunrise Scarborough Bluffs Engagement session, what do you say? Uhm... YUP! Ever the night owl, I am always so struck by how amazing it feels to be awake to watch the sun come up; see the warm glow hit the horizon, the stars start to nod off and everything come to life as the light slowly makes it's way across the land and water. Dreamy!  It doesn't happen often, but when it does I'm always super invigorated and catch myself thinking “why don't I do this more often?”

We met a short time before the sun was set to make it's appearance; drank coffee and giggled as we clumsily made our way to a perfect perch to catch the action. Ok. Truth time! I clumsily made my way, Steve & Peter were sure footed and put together. If they were still sleepy, they hid it incredibly well! It turns out they're better with mornings than I am.

Steve & Peter have this way of holding each other that makes you all warm and fuzzy on the inside; they don't seem to be close without snuggling the other's arm or reaching for his hand. Their eyes light up when they're around each other and they laugh. All. The. Time. It was such an amazing way to start the day!! We watched the sun come up, played on the beach, chased some seagulls and headed to my absolute favourite delicious local bakery, Tori's Bakeshop, to grab some breakfast. Next truth time… I had a hard time leaving these two. We were having so much fun it was hard to wrap up.

I love it more than anything when my clients quickly become much more than clients, they make their way into my heart almost instantly and become friends. I freaking adore these two, and I'm SO excited that I get to see them again tomorrow for their wedding.

Frances

I'm Frances-- a photographer with a fine art background and a serious soft spot for love, wide open spaces, wandering barefoot and giving epic hugs. I'm drawn to connections, anything outdoors, raw emotion, natural light and the human experience. I am a big believer in bear hugs, loving big, and making things by hand. I think I look ridiculous when I laugh, but it never stops me from doing so.

Photography for me is all about connection and creating a window into your lives for future generations to peer into. Every one and every relationship is unique. Your images should be too. Annie Leibovitz said it best "When I say I want to photograph someone, what it really means is that I'd like to know them." That is so true for me. I don't just want to photograph you, I want to know you.
